Just wanted to say "Hello" to my old friend "the Livejournal". I have seen this in ages so i figured I'd post a lil' something for now.

maybe, just maybe i'll consider throwing up a few thoughts in the coming days. Until then look at this:

it was on the T platform for the red line at Park street.

'fall' through the killer movie line-up [05 Aug 2006|09:40pm]
[ mood | good ]

well i haven't updated this thing for a while and what i have to type isn't about me. this is just a highlight reel on upcoming movies that i think are going to be cool (or appear that way). the summer housed no blockbusters, no oscar-worthy epics, no mind-boggling thrillers. it did however house Clerks II which was incredibly funny. Kevin Smith fans should not have been disappointed with his latest vulgar look at the mundane job market and strange relationships. other than that, not much impressed me, but coming this fall i definitely think that will change.

The Illusionist : for people who enjoy the great acting of Edward Norton, Paul Giamatti (fuck Lady in the Water) and a little magic
then i think this movie will be interesting. taking a look at a "illusionist" who is facing controversy and problems from the authorities
seems to be the concept of this film.
due out: August 18th, 2006

The Prestige : in keeping with the magic theme, Christopher Nolan (Batman Begins, Memento) has a new film coming this october
called The Prestige. starring Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Hugh Jackman and Scarlett Johansson in a story of 2 rival magicians
trying to outdo each other. when the seemingly clever character Bale portrays may know real magic. definitely seems like a cool concept.
due out: October 20th, 2006

The Fountain : for some this is the long awaited third film by Darren Aronofsky. for others it's a movie by a director that may be too artsy.
for the rest, it's a movie by a guy they haven't heard of. in any case, this movie looks great. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz star in
a movie spanning a thousand years in the constant search for immortality. through true love and turmoil they search for the "tree of life".
due out: October 13th, 2006

The Science of Sleep : from the creative and intriguing mind that brought you Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, comes a strange
story of man who incorporates his dreams into his reality. finding a girl he likes living across the hall, the movie seems to explore
his strange look at interactions and attempts to be with her.
due out: September 15th, 2006

Children of Men : a new look at the apocalypse involving the idea of infertility. when humans can no longer have babies, there
is only a matter of time before they are extinct. Clive Owen, Michael Caine and Julianne Moore star in this movie about hope
and determination to have a future.
due out: September 29th, 2006

The Departed
: Martin Scorcese returns with yet another movie about the crime syndicate. this time it takes place in South Boston.
Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon and Jack Nicholson this movie involves moles, a major crime boss,
a new undercover cop and a lot of mistrust. i doubt Scorcese will elt fans down with this one.
due out: October 10th, 2006

Crank : for some people, like myself,  The Transporter was a terrible failure that had potential, with a sequel to unbearable
to view. now with that in mind Jason Statham has a new action film that will hopefully destroy the stigma those previous
films hold with him. Crank involves a hit man who has one hour to live and a large score to settle. this all before the poison
in his veins becomes lethal. since this is rated 'R', i think the action that should have saved The Transporter can be shown
to make this one cool.
due out: September 1st, 2006

: a new comedy from Broken Lizard (Super Troopers; Club Dread) about competitive beer drinking.
what more can yo say really?
due out: August 25th, 2006

Casino Royale
: the new Bond flick with the new Bond, Daniel Craig. should be a great new addition to the 007 collection.
due out: November 17th, 2006

TMNT : maybe a little bit more into the distant future, but another movie filling a few childhood fantasies. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
is coming back to theaters and contrary to the way most movies to this, it's animated. most start animated and do live action (like the
next movie i'll list), but TMNT started the other way around and is coming back. this should be quite interesting to say the least.
due out: March 30th, 2007

Transformers : now a live action Transformers movie. whether you think it's a smart movie to make, smart to let Michael Bay
direct it, or what have you, i think most everyone who had any fascination with the show as a child will check it out.
due out: July 4th, 2007

well those are some of the films that i have seen trailers for and want to check out. i hope this is informative and will convince a few readers of this nonsense to check them out as well. peace out yo!

p.s. The Black Dahlia looks sweet too!

List any 10 musical artists you like

o1 Mindless Self Indulgence
o2 Tool
o3 Nine Inch Nails
o4 H.I.M.
o5 Skinny Puppy
o6 Radiohead
o7 Gorillaz
o8 Tori Amos
10 Mars Volta

What was the first song you ever heard by 6?
"creep", because of its huge popularity throughout their early years.

What is your favourite album of 4?
either love metal or dark light, but since dark light is more recent and in the fore-front i'll with that.

What is your favorite lyric of 7?
"i saw that day / lost my mind / lord, i'm fine / maybe in time you'll want to be mine."  ~El Manana

How many times have you seen each of your ten bands live?
msi = 4; tool = 4; nin = 3 (2 more on deck for this month); him = 2; skinny puppy = 1; radiohead = 3; gorillaz = 0; tori = 1; KMFDM = 4; mars volta = 1

What is your favorite song by 1?
thats a tough one, but i love "bitches", "faggot", "stupid mf", "shut me up"

Is there a song of 3 that makes you sad?
"hurt" of course, "a warm place" and "leaving hope"

What is your favorite song by 2?
"jambi", "third eye", "eulogy", "lateralus"...there are soo many to choose from.

What is your favorite song by 9?
"last things"

What is your favorite album by 5?
"the greater wrong of the right" or "the process"

How did you get into 1?
i first heard them while i was on a street team AGES ago and hated it. my music taste was a bit sheltered and narrow at the time. then my buddy ragnar had it playing in his car and i was convinced i'd still hate it and it turned out to be quite the opposite. i bought the album that night.

What is your favorite song by 4?
"killing loneliness", "beyond redemption", "resurrection" there are soo many once again.

Who is your favorite band member in 10?
omar is a CRAZY guitarist!

Which of the 10 has influenced you the most?
tool definitely.

What is a good memory concerning 8?
the time i saw her in boston. it started out as a possible lousy memory. i was lost, confused, annoyed and tired looking for the venue she was at. i was fairly new to boston so i searched for like 2 hours for the fleet boston pavilion (now bank of america pavilion) which i thought was the fleet center at first. i ended up at south station still lost. finally i said to myself, "i'm walking to the river and if i don't see it i'm going home." a lady stopped me and asked if by chance i was going to see Tori that night (mind you i dont appear to be going to a tori amos concert). i said yes and caught a shuttle to the pavilion. i didn't miss any of tori's set and it was great!

Is there a song by 2 that makes you sad?
ya 10,000 days (wings part 2), especially since i know the lyrics and what its all about.

What is your favorite song of 5?
"pro-test" is pretty fuckin sweet and so is "blue serge"

How did you become a fan of 10?
my friends chris and jake at college played them for me at times during photo class and i liked them instantly.

all hail to the thief. [05 Jun 2006|02:29am]
Kid A is using his iron lung to learn how to disappear completely, if he's lucky. There, there everything's in its right place, so there's no need to call the karma police.

if you cant tell already this is radiohead related material. this is because peter smith joined me in viewing them at the Bank of America Pavilion(formerly the Fleet Boston Pavilion) in Boston (duh!) tonight. amazing show i must say, but this is to be expected. the main focus of this tiny tour of theirs (8 cities in the U.S., 2 shows a piece) was to test out some new material. they played 8 new songs and a little new segue/instrumental piece. the set list is as follows:

01 There There
02 2+2=5
03 Lucky
04 15 Step
05 Arpeggi
06 Kid A
07 Dollars And Cents
08 The National Anthem
09 Nude
10 Videotape
11 Paranoid Android
12 Spooks (segue thingy)
13 The Gloaming
14 House of Cards
15 Idioteque
16 Bangers 'N Mash
17 How To Disappear Completely

Encore 1:
18 Airbag
19 Street Spirit
20 Bodysnatchers
21 Everything In Its Right Place

Encore 2:
22. 4 Minute Warning
23. My Iron Lung
24. Karma Police

if you have never had the chance to see radiohead (and you happen to like them), you must take the money / time / effort to check them out. they put on an outstanding show and make it a lot of fun to watch. i am looking forward to the new record, since the new material was excellent!
